TJ's New Pillow

TJ has been sleeping with a Christmas Pillow,
I finally bought fabric to put the Dresden plate on
and finished it up this morning.
Seems to be TJ approved.
Now the Christmas pillow can be put away until Christmas time.

Also I finished my Quilt and Needle Mystery Top

I am not sure what I will do for the borders.
The design calls for 3 all around borders
however these fabrics are directional and I know
the seams will drive me crazy.

Kindle Cover

We put away all the Christmas decorations except one.

TJ has fallen in love with this pillow.
No matter where we put it he finds it and cuddles up with it.
I am working on make a replacement year around cover.
I hope he will love it just as much with a different cover.

Jeff got me the most wonderful Christmas Gift.
My Kindle!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

And found a cute Tutorial for a cover.
I took it to work and another girl that also received
a wonderful Christmas Kindle too.
So I made her one with birds.

Quilt Top Done & Charming Girls Completions

We have been training for the Half Marathon. As you can tell it really takes alot out of TJ to train with us.
I got The Quilt Top back from the quilter. She did such a wonderful job! I have a few more to sent out to her. This is the Fall 2009 Patchwork party quilt. It is going on my bed.
Look at the cute little hearts that she quilted along the border. She did a "light" quilting that is so perfect for this quilt. I like "light" quilting since it makes the quilt more cuddly.

One of my personal goals for the Charming Girls Club was to go out to the movies with the kids. Today we all went to the movies and watched Despicable Me. We all enjoyed it alot. The Mininos were so adorable!

1st TJ-iversary

Today is 1 year that TJ has been with us! He has brought us so much love and companionship. We adopted him through a rescue group. The 2 of us went over to thank the ladies and let them know just how much he has grown and improved over the past year. When we got him he was unable to bend his back legs, causing him to have a funny walk. He was unable to sit so he would either stand or just flop over and lay down. He was so skinny and couldn't walk very far. Now he takes us for our nightly walks. He can sit, jump, and has gained 5 pounds. You can't tell in this picture but he also has no tail. I don't know what happened to it but it is gone, not cropped, just gone! Here is to many more years to come.
I also finished my next Cabbage Rose 2nd Saturday 30's block. This one is my favorite!

Hedwig's Quilt & a sleepy TJ

Few months ago I had started quilting on My Quilt and Needle March 2009 Mystery quilt when I decided that it was just too big to be quilted on my machine. So today I finally started to pull out the quilting so I can just send it out to be quilted. When I left the chair to take a break look what happened!
Why did I decide to take the quilting out today? Welp, my trusty Brother sewing machine has been skipping stitches whenever I applique. It has finaly annoyed me so much that I dropped it off at the SewPros. They told me it will be about a week before I get a quote then another week for the repair. My machine is an inexpensive Brother CS6000I that I have loved and used everyday since I got it a year and a half ago. I don't know if it will be cheaper to get it working right or cheaper to buy a new one. Jeff tells me that I am like an addict counting the days I have been without my Brother. After we dropped it off we found a machine that looks just like mine but has an alphabet font at Costco for $149.00.

I did manage to get Hedwig's Quilt top completed before sending off the machine. It is really cute and just the right size for him. I will get it basted and ready for quilting.
