This is the year of quilts for me.
First up Russian Rubix for my bed.
I have cut into 4 different Sweetwater Layer cakes.
Sunkissed, Noteworthy, Lucy's Crab Shack,
and Wishes.
I have started to get little blocks for my Russian Rubix quilt.
These are 5 inch blocks.
I am thinking I will need close to 500 blocks.
This small stack will need lots of friends.

A finish!

I am super happy with this twister quilt.
I used a layer cake of
Aneela Hoey's A Walk in the Woods.
(purchased with a Joann's 50% coupon)
Finished the month after the baby was born.
Not too bad.

I saw a tutorial for a raw edge binding a few months ago.
However I can't remember where I saw it and google wasn't much help.
I had to do if from guess and memory.
That and not give the proper credit.

I cut 3 1/4 inch strips
folded in half for double sided binding.
Attached to the back as I would normally attach to the front.
(this is all the same as I normally would do my binding)
Folded it over and pinned the fabric down.
Clipped the raw edge as I would a rag quilt.
Washed and dried.
Love it!
However I am going to test with wider strips next time.

Poochie Bag

Blessings for all the people dealing with this unspeakable tragedy in Japan.

The Happy Zombie has a free tutorial for a Poochie Bag.
I have been seeing these bags all over bloggyland and decided to make my own.
I with I would have put pellon in the bag,
the added body would really add alot to my little bag.
I am sure the little girl that is going to receive it will be happy and not know the difference.

Jess at The Quilt and Needle is hosting another Mystery next weekend.
She has the best mystery quilts!
Here are my fabric choices.
I got my cutting directions on Friday,
I will be sure to have all my cutting finished by the Saturday morning start.
Lucky these are all from my stash so nothing needs to be reported on these tomorrow.

Here is my #10 block for the Moose on the Porch Layer Cake Quilt Along.
I really love this block.
On point for a scrap buster quilt.

Little Miss Shabby February Block

I finished my February Block
This BOM has been really fun.
The next block is outlined and ready for stitching.

I planned the flying geese with the directional fabric in mind.
TJ needed his walk while I was piecing it,
and when we got back I forgot about my directional print.
Now that I am looking at it I can't believe the writing is correct.
How lucky can I get?

Who's that Chicken?

Bee was a chicken at work for Holloween. We had to stop by and see her. She was shaking her tail feathers. She even did the chicken dance for me before we left.

I just love the way Grammie's quilt is turning out. I have it all basted and ready for quilting. I just love this Schnibbles pattern made with 2 Gypsy Rose Layer cakes. I will have to get it finished soon since it is a Christmas present.
Romor has it there is a new Schnibbles book coming out soon. I wonder what patterns will be in it. This is only my 2nd quilt from this book so I have a few more to make. They go together quickly and are so much fun and cute.
