Jayden's Baby Girl

I bunco with a group that all met when our daughters where in
the marching band color guard in high school.
It has been really fun to watch all the girls growing up after high school.
The first one in Bee's graduating class is having a baby girl this month.
Here is the quilt for her soon to be new addition.
This was made with a Sherbit Pips Jelly Roll.
I have enough blocks left for that I will be piecing a 2nd similar quilt soon.

David's Baby Quilt

One of the guys that I work with is expecting his first baby.
They don't want to find out the sex until it is born later this month.
Here is a baby quilt made for this new little one.
It was made with this Moda Bake Shop Tutorial & a Lollipop Layer Cake.

Pooh is finished

Happily I am finished with my Pooh quilt and it has been given away waiting for a sweet little boy.
Sadly I never got a good picture of it finished.

This is the best picture that I got.
It was taken sideways and looks funny when I turn the picture.
Also it is missing the yellow strip binding.
I am very happy with how it turned out.

Guess Who invited me to sew at her new place!

My wonderful daughter.
What is that?!
Yes she is making herself a table runner.
My little clothes making girl is making a quilting project.
I am such a proud Momma!

I even got my Quilt and Needle Row Robin Row finished.
Her Theme is Alaska.
These are my version of flocks of "flying geese"

I spent today working on my Secret Santa gift.
Of course it is a secret so I will not be able to show it.
I hope to get my Row & Secret Santa gift in the mail this week.
Wish me luck.

Latest Happenings

Welp - I have completely lost track of my stash reports.
I have received fabric that has gotten mixed into my stash and I have no idea what numbers to add.
So no more stash reports for this year at least.

This weekend was one of my favorites!
The Miramar Air Show.
The Blue Angels fly right over our house.
All 6 planes in perfect formation, so close I feel like I could touch them.
Sitting outside and watching them is such a wonderful treat.
My retired Navy father also got to enjoy the flyovers with me.
That was the cherry on the top of my special treat!

My parents came down from Washington and spent the last week with us.
I love it when my parents come down.
It was a little bit of an adventure since they have 2 small poodle girls.
TJ has never had puppy company so I didn't know what to expect.
Our quiet passive boy isn't quite as quiet and passive when it comes to having these girls in his house.
(I was so bad and didn't take any pictures while they where here).
Maddie is only about 7 pounds and a real go with the flow kinda girl.
Muffy is bigger and heavier and growled at TJ every chance she had.
TJ didn't take well to her growling and would go into full bark and chase mode.
He decided that marking on top of the girls' marking wasn't enough.
He kept trying to mark ON the girls!
They left Friday morning and TJ just slept all day Friday.
Having company can be so tiring, even for a dog.
I caught a cold while they where here so I joined him on sleepfest Friday.

My very handy dad installed TJ a pet door.
It is such a luxury.
He also took my old Singer Sewing Machine to refinish the cabinet.
So it will be gone until their next trip south.

Before they came I finished this baby quilt.
Lizz's granddaughter was probably born while I was on vacation from work so it was done just in time.

I have 4 projects that I have to get done this month.

First up.
Kiersten at work is having a baby boy.
The Baby shower is in 2 weeks.
I purchased a panel that makes a soft Pooh book and am going to turn it into a baby quilt.
It will be perfect for a Pooh nursery.

Next up will be a Christmas gift for My Secret Santa Exchange at The Quilt and Needle.
I have a pattern and fabrics for this.
Before I start I will post a picture of the fabric but will not be able to share a finish until it is received.

My third project will be a Row on the Row Robin also for a Quilt and Needle swap.
This one really stumped me.
I took the rows into the LQS.
The ladies there helped me come up with a plan so I have those fabrics waiting for their turn.

My 4th project is another baby quilt.
Seem like a lot of my friends are turning into grandparents before my eyes.
This is a baby girl and will be getting a Sherbet Pips Jelly Roll Quilt.

Cheryl's Baby girl's quilt

I just love this pattern.
It is Nana's Garden from Scrap Basket Sensations.
And a Dilly Dally Jelly roll.
I even used a few of the extra strips for binding.

Fat Quarter Mystery BOM 2009 Finished!

Jeff asked me if I was working on a quilt for his mom.
Why yes I am...for Christmas.
Do you think you could get it done for her Birthday in July?

What?!

Why yes I can!
And I did!
Go me.

This picture doesn't show the true colors they are much lovelier in person.
See the Blocks in past posts here
I sure hope she likes the colors & pattern.
This BOM came with generous cuts of fabric.
She just might be getting some accent items for Christmas.

Kayla's Baby Boy Quilt

Finished!
Bee's friend Kayla's baby boy is due in June & his quilt is now in the wash and ready to be gifted.
I just love this quilt pattern.

Knowing that I ran across 2 different fabric sales that I couldn't resist really motivated me to get this one done today.

My Accuquilt Go die Mat should be here Thursday.

Drea's Quilt

Bee's Friend is having a baby and I decided to make both
big sister & the new baby quilts.
Here is big sister Drea's quilt.
This is a perfect quilt for a 1 1/4 year old girl.
It is from this Moda Bake Shop Tutorial.

This one has alot of personality.
And by personality I mean the quilt police better not look at it too close.
The ruffle binding was quite a challenge.
I don't think I will attempt that again.

The royal purple flannel backing is just prefect.

Poochie Bag

Blessings for all the people dealing with this unspeakable tragedy in Japan.

The Happy Zombie has a free tutorial for a Poochie Bag.
I have been seeing these bags all over bloggyland and decided to make my own.
I with I would have put pellon in the bag,
the added body would really add alot to my little bag.
I am sure the little girl that is going to receive it will be happy and not know the difference.

Jess at The Quilt and Needle is hosting another Mystery next weekend.
She has the best mystery quilts!
Here are my fabric choices.
I got my cutting directions on Friday,
I will be sure to have all my cutting finished by the Saturday morning start.
Lucky these are all from my stash so nothing needs to be reported on these tomorrow.

Here is my #10 block for the Moose on the Porch Layer Cake Quilt Along.
I really love this block.
On point for a scrap buster quilt.

Sunkissed Juliet Bag

I finished my Juliet bag using
the Sunkissed Fabrics that I purchased last week.
I am Loving both the bag and the fabrics.
It went together so easy.
The size is exactly what I was hoping for.
The scraps will make a perfect matching Kindle cover.

Now I want to make another one with different fabrics.

Tilly's 2nd Baby Quilt

Yeah - I have a finish!
I just love the way this Whirlygig Make Life Quilt.
Can't wait to see the new baby boy all snuggled up with it.
