WOW 40

Yesterday was my 40th birthday.
I was hoping to have pictures to share but I forgot my camera at home.

We took our beach cruiser bikes to downtown San Diego
then rode the Coronado Ferry over to the island.
We rode around Coronado and visited the Hotel Del.
That hotel is just amazing!
We ate lunch with a wonderful view of the water.
San Diego gave us perfect weather.
I couldn't have asked for a better day.

I have decided that since there is no more room in my
Charm drawer, I really need to use some of them up.

Quilt for Kids quilt are the perfect size for a
1 charm pack quilt.
Here are the first 2 tops.

They just need 2 borders and they will be ready to quilt.
I am going to set myself a goal of getting 1 Quilt for Kids quilted
each time I set my machine up for free motion quilting.

I have at least 3 more charms of Rawhide and a few other charms that I am going to use up.

Soccer Quilt for Kids Finish

Here is my completed Quilt for Kids Quilt. It just needs a label & to be mailed. I sure hope that this quilt brings comfort to a child who could really use it.
Jeff thinks it is very funny that my last completed "Gooooooal" for my July/August Charming Girls list is a Soccer quilt!

Quilt for Kids Top

Ooo La La - A makeover for my blog. I mentioned to Bee the other day that I was thinking my blog needed a new look. Last night as I was relaxing on the couch she called me into her room to show me the header. Isn't it cute? So I signed into blogger for her and she adjusted all my colors and setting to match the new header. Thanks Bee! I am just the luckiest mom.

Today when I got home from work I pieced my Quilt for Kids top. It is baisted and ready for quilting. Did you notice that I had a little helper on my baisting project? I don't care how many quilts there are in the house the one I am currently working on is the best one in the house.
Jeff's sister is having a Baby girl and we have been invited to the baby shower on September 11th. I guess I need to get busy on her quilt. I think I will try backing it with Minki fabric. It is SO soft and yummy feeling who wouldn't want to wrap their baby into it?

Baby Quilt & Quilt for Kids

I have 3 finishes! It is such an exciting day for me. Here is the Quilt for my Friend Lizz's 2nd Grandson. It was made with this Moda Bake Shop Tutorial. I used Animal Alphabet my Moda. I just love how cute it is and how quick it went together. I just might make another one for Shelley's 1st baby. (Shelley is Jeff's sister) We will find out in August if it is a boy or a girl. Either would be great, although I just love little girls.
I finished a pair of Quilt for Kids tops. I found this video tutorial and had 2 Snippets turnovers. Maybe they will find happy homes with kids that will love them.I finished my first set for the Freckled Whimsy Charm Pack Along. 150 half Triangles squared up was a bit of a project. I think they turned out cute. This might just turn into my Quilt Of Victory I have promised myself I would make this year.

Museum of Man

Today Jeff and I went down to Balboa Park, had a picnic lunch and went through the Museum of Man. They had alot of interesting exibits. The coolest one was all was games through the ages. They had alot that I had never heard of but there was a very old deck of Canasta Cards. There also was a bunch of different Monopoly games. I still think the one Bee got while we where in Estonia is the coolest Monopoly game I have seen. It was all written in Estonian. We played it on the Cruise but didn't understand that Chance & Community Chest cards so we just kind of made them up....hhmm I think I just went off on a Tangent. Anyways it was a super fun day & 1 of my personal goals for the Charming Girl's Club.
Look - I got my Quilt for Kids kit today. It is ubber cute with the little soccer players. Too bad the World Cup just ended, this would have been alot of fun to work on during the World Cup. I bet there is a kid that will just love this finished quilt. I will get to working on it soon.
