Stash Report #32

 I spent time working on Jasmine Star.  I didn't get it finished before August.  And now I am realizing that it will be the middle of August before I get it in the mail to the quilter.  Hopefully it will still be back and bound before they come to visit in October.

 These lovely Tula Pink Birds and Bees sale fabrics arrived in the mail this week.

Along with this Comma Jelly Roll.

2.75 yards - Comma Jelly Roll.  This was on the same sale.  I really isn't Halloween fabrics but the colors look like they will be perfect for a Halloween project.

Two ladies at work are both having baby boys in November.

I am making them both similar quilts.

These fabrics will supplement the layer cake from my stash.

I have no plans just really love it.

I suspect it will soon be HTF even if it did just come out.

So best get it now and plan later.

I guess I didn't get anything posted this week.  I have been sewing so I really have no excuse.  I will get to posting more this week.  We did head downtown yesterday to see all the crazy that is Comic Con.  It was so much fun and I couldn't believe how many people where there.  We just might do it again next year.

This was a good week.  Jeff took me to The Pagent of the Masters.   It is amazing.  If you live close enough to go I would highly recommend it.  Also I got to spend a sewing day with my daughter.  It doesn't get any better than that.

I purchase a grey fat quarter for a birthday block.  I have not finished it so it doesn't count as an out just an in.

Stash Report #28

It was a warm week here in San Diego.  Lucky for me we have AC and I am able to keep cool. 

My little TJ guy got a hematoma in his ear.  The vet says it is common in floppy eared dogs but I have never heard of it before.  My little allergy boy shakes his head so hard with each sneeze and that must be when it happened.  Surgery is an option to remove the extra blood that has pooled in his ear, but we decided to go with the non-surgical option.  It will probably take him about a month for it to go away.  He seems much less bothered by the puffy ear than he would with stitches and a cone around his neck.  He has been on pain meds so I have been hanging out on the couch with him this week to try and let him sleep.

I was able to spend time in my sewing room almost everyday this week.  WhooHoo.  The weather was perfect.  Open windows was cool enough, I love it when I get to keep the house open and it stays light so late in the day.

The packages have started to arrive. 

 

 

Since the quilt I am making with my scraps from this years Fat Quarter shop BOM

calls for many 9 inch pieces I decided that a layer cake would be perfect.

I don't think I can count on that many large scraps.

This layer cake was a daily deal is perfect.

I am going to make Carrie Nelson's Going Buggy.

 

I am making my parents a new quilt for their bed.
The fabric came in and I started cutting before I took a picture.
Since I ordered these online using my color card I found that there are a few I am not liking so much.
This means a trip to the LQS to get a few fabrics to change out.
Since I love my fabric well starched,
starching & cutting has been all I worked on this week.

Stash Report #24

I bought fabric for Minnie Mouse but since it wasn't quilting fabric I will not be counting it in or out.  Also I received a box from Fabric.com, however it was somebody else's box.  Lucky for me I didn't like any of the fabric inside so there wasn't even a little temptation to find a way to sneak it into my stash.  My real box should be arriving tomorrow.  That will change things, but for now my numbers are looking pretty good.

I did some sewing this week.  However the only out I get to count out is for the May birthday block for the birthday block exchange I am doing with the ladies at The Quilt and Needle.  It is such a lovely group of ladies I wish I could find more time to hang out with them all.

However this month isn't looking good.  I have a big shipment arriving Monday and the new Fat Quarter Shop finishing kit should be arriving later this month.  Plus I just clicked a few buttons and purchased a Avalon Layer cake.  I have picked the scrap quilt I will be making with my FQS scraps but I need some bigger pieces and this on sale Layer cake will be perfect.

Stash Report #21

It has been a busy and fun week.  We went to San Diego Safari Park yesterday.  Even though we are members of the San Diego Zoo it has been a really long time since we have hit up the Safari Park.  They have made some amazing changes.  We will be back for sure.  Also my baby girl celebrated her birthday (well we all celebrated).  It is her birthday but she really is the best gift I ever could have received.   

I had a finish this week. But just like last week I am going to count it in my outs before I post a picture.  It just needs a label attached and it will be in the mail on its way to Little Olivia for her big girl bed.  I stayed out of the quilt shops once again so I have a zero added.  However I will be ordering yardage for a King size bed quilt I have promised my parents so there will be a plus once it arrives, likely in 2 weeks.  And they are coming down to see me in October so I am going to be working hard to finish it so I can get it back from the quilter and bound before then.

Stash Report #16

I missed posting my stash report last week so this is 2 reports in one.

 

Last week I realized that I wanted to add a little more grey to my tumbler quilt that I am making from my FQS mystery scraps.  So I picked up the strip fabric for the binding and the grey to be cut into tumblers.  I think the rest of that grey will make a good binding fabric for a baby quilt I hope to finish this week.  The newest BOM for the FQS mystery BOM arrived.  It is so fun to get that each month.

 



 

I placed an order from fabric.com for a purple strip fabric to use for the sleeves of the next Princess dress (Rapunzel).  While I was there I ordered a few yards of some basics that where on sale.  I don't see the purple strip fabric at all.  What I do see is a cat in the hat fabric.  They where really nice and are letting me keep the Cat in the hat fabric and the correct fabric should be here Monday.

 

I spent Friday working on a dress for myself.  Since is it isn't finished it doesn't count as out yet.  I also basted 3 quilts that will help bring my numbers down once they are quilted and bound.  This week better be a getting things finished kind of week.

Lucky for me I don't count Flannel as fabric in.  Since I only purchase for backing of quilts they don't really come into my stash or out.  So the 5 yards of backing fabric counts for nothing and allows me to send off Olivia's big girl quilt to be quilted.  This means there will be stash out at some point in the future.
