This is the year of quilts for me.
First up Russian Rubix for my bed.
I have cut into 4 different Sweetwater Layer cakes.
Sunkissed, Noteworthy, Lucy's Crab Shack,
and Wishes.
I have started to get little blocks for my Russian Rubix quilt.
These are 5 inch blocks.
I am thinking I will need close to 500 blocks.
This small stack will need lots of friends.

Stash Report

Welp, it happened.  I had my first stash added for this year.

This week
+.25 FQS Mystery BOM - I also signed up for next year's Mystery BOM.  I just love receiving the little packages each month.  Lucky that will not count until they arrive in the mail much later in the year.

My year to date matches my week since this is my first week of actual fabric to report.  My net for the year is +.25.   I am happy with my numbers.  Although it is still early.

Sewing day with Bee

Today I got to spend the day sewing with Bee.
What a treat!
Here she is binding a Halloween quilt for herself.
and 1 layer cake.

I pieced the backing for my hopscotch quilt.
It was made with an "Oh my Dog" Jelly roll.
Together we spray basted it.
This is a UFO that has been hanging around.
 Always love an empty tote.

All the backing fabric was from my stash.
It is a good job keeping to my - use from stash first commitment.

Raggedy and Friends

This one is for me.
It has been a long time in the making but is finally a flimsy.

I am taking the panel and extra fat quarters from the bundle to make a backing.
This one will be heading off to the quilter to be a perfect gift for myself.
(after taking the picture I see a little blue marker that didn't disappear, oops)

Thank you Kaaren from the Painted Quilt for sharing this pattern.

New Year Fresh start

For some reason the 2nd half of last year I couldn't find the motivation for spending time in my sewing room.  This year has started off much different.  My daughter has moved back in with us will be sharing the room with me.  Nothing will motivate a clean out like bring a 2nd sewing machine & table in.  This should be fun and I hope productive.  I have gotten rid of a TON of scraps that I know I will never be sewing with.   This is helping me get organized and make room for her and her projects.  Also my wonderful hubby has mounted shelves above my cutting table.  I am so in love with them.  I have one more shelf that will be mounted right above my window.

All of this has lead me to start posing on my blog again (an looking through the hundreds of blog posts that I have been following but not looking at).

Since it is a fresh new year I will start with a fresh new stash reports.

Zero inZero out.

All the scraps that are out are not going to be considered since I don't want to give myself any buffer or wiggle room on bring extra in.

Stash Report #32

I spent time working on Jasmine Star.  I didn't get it finished before August.  And now I am realizing that it will be the middle of August before I get it in the mail to the quilter.  Hopefully it will still be back and bound before they come to visit in October.

These lovely Tula Pink Birds and Bees sale fabrics arrived in the mail this week.
Along with this Comma Jelly Roll.

This week
