Bee's Fabric treat

No matter how old my baby gets
I love to give her a little something special on holidays.
This Halloween since she has been quilting I bought her a little Moda baked goodness.
A trick or Treat Layer cake.
She turned it in to an adorable project.
Visit her blog to see what she did.

Can you tell I am a proud Momma?

Who's that Chicken?

Bee was a chicken at work for Holloween. We had to stop by and see her. She was shaking her tail feathers. She even did the chicken dance for me before we left.

I just love the way Grammie's quilt is turning out. I have it all basted and ready for quilting. I just love this Schnibbles pattern made with 2 Gypsy Rose Layer cakes. I will have to get it finished soon since it is a Christmas present.
Romor has it there is a new Schnibbles book coming out soon. I wonder what patterns will be in it. This is only my 2nd quilt from this book so I have a few more to make. They go together quickly and are so much fun and cute.

Bee & Me Day

Bee found the cutest Stray Sock book at Barnes and Noble the other day. So we have looked all around the house for cute socks and decided we would try the Goodwill this weekend to see if they have some cute socks. That was a no go but I did find myself a...
Lady bug purse. I think it is brand new and was only $4. What a deal. Bee and I spent the whole day driving around San Diego hitting up different Goodwills. She found the cutest overall dress for $5 and we bought a brand new double deck of card $2. She got 10% since she is a student. I have brought up my little girl to love a deal just like her mom. We even where right by the Sonic so we stopped in for the super yummy chili cheese wraps & cherry limeade. Maybe they will build on closer to our house. (Jeff & I beat the kids at Canasta with the new cards. What a good way to break them in). For Christmas Bee & Sam bought me this Jelly Roll Quilt book. It has some adorable quilts. I got the pattern for the quilt I am making Shelley & Bill's new baby from it. I have a Birdie Jelly Roll I have been just itching to use and I think it will be perfect for her quilt (I think I need to find out her name)
All 9 blocks are finished. Some of the color combos are cuter then others but I think once they are are sewn together they will really work well.

5th Day of Staycation

Bee and I had a Mother and Daughter afternoon. We went and got pedi's and now our toes are the same color. Then we headed over to the mall to try and find a new dress for me to wear to my sister's wedding this weekend. The dress I was thinking of wearing a black and white dress but wasn't thinking it was the right colors. We didn't find me a new dress but we did find Bee a black and white dress so we will be color coded. Sending the day with my DD is SO much fun. I am a very lucky mom.

Before we left on our adventure I started making blocks with 2 snippets turnovers that I had in my stash. I think these scrappy blocks are going to make a very fun quilt.

1st Day of my of my Staycation

Today is the first day of my Staycation! Whoo Hoo!

Bee and I decide we would hit up Old Navy and see if we could score ourselves some $2 tank tops. What a Black Fridayesk deal. We missed out but decided to head next door and see what we find at Ross. Spending time with my DD is one of the biggest joys that life has to offer. She has an amazing sense of humor that just fits mine so well. As we were giggling at some of the craziest dress we could find there was a smokey/foggy look in the air. Some kid had been playing with fire extinguisher. As the fire alarm was ringing overhead & a voice over the loud speaker explain the lack of a fire, we just kept looking at each other laughing. Next thing we know the fire truck pulls up with lights and sirens going. As the evacuated the store both of us had to leave our prized finds in the store possiblly never to be found again. Oh well good times with Bee are better then a new dress anyday!

After much sewing & tearing out - then more sewing & more tearing out. Bee came to the rescue and helped me get the last little bit of my Gingerbread Joy quilt top completed. This one is now on my list of quilts that need to be sent out for quilting. I even found the cutest Gingerbread backing fabric for it. Maybe next month I will start sending them out 1 at a time until they are all done.

Happy Birthday Bee!

Yup - my baby girl turned 20 today! She is growing into such a wonderful young lady. If I had custom ordered a I don't think I could have dreamed up the amazing girl that was gifted to me 20 years ago. Bee I hope you had a wonderful day!

We all went out to Forever Fondu in La Jolla. It is one of her favorite places for dinner.

Afterward we walked over the "Children's Pool" that has been taken over by the seals. Pupping season is over but there were still lots of young seals haning around. They are all so fun to watch. We stood on the walkway just before the "Splash Zone" just a few feet further down the walkway the waves would crash on the walkway and get people all wet.
